Grass Valley and NEP sign enterprise agreement

Max Miller

The companies will combine their “knowledge, insight and offerings”

Grass Valley and NEP have announced an enterprise agreement that will see the two companies working closer together.

At the core of the deal are enterprise pricing agreements, which commit to predictable manufacturing and long-term purchasing between the two businesses. In addition, the pair promise to combine their knowledge, insight, and offerings, including their R&D teams working together to bring products to the market.

Grass Valley and NEP have worked together extensively in the past, including on coverage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Wimbledon, and the Superbowl. NEP already uses Grass Valley software and hardware in its live productions, and it joins the likes of Qvest in having an enterprise agreement with Grass Valley.

NEP chief operating officer Jeff Hughes said: “We want to offer our customers the best choice when it comes to financial models, products and workflows, so they can deliver the rich live content experiences consumers demand today. Grass Valley and NEP Group have partnered on many premium live event productions in the past, and I look forward to many successful future collaborations.”

Jan Lange, chief revenue officer at Grass Valley, added: “Our enterprise pricing agreements are about selecting the best partners that support our mission to make the transition for media companies to future workflows – such as IP, cloud and software-defined – a reality. NEP Group has been behind world-class sporting events for decades, and we have worked with the company for many years.

“Our relationship with NEP has evolved from a vendor to a partner, and I am excited to continue this journey, offering superior commercial choices, technical excellence and industry insight to our customers and the greater media market.”

  • The atmosphere at MPTS has been amazing this year. MPTS is definitely one of the industry’s most diverse shows, if not the most diverse, both in terms of attendees and panelists. A huge amount of work goes into making sure that there is equal representation across an extensive conference programme.

  • I think this year 2024 is probably the most innovative, cutting-edge, head-of-the-curve MPTS that I’ve exhibited at so far. I think even compared to last year, attendees really know what they’re looking for when it comes to cloud, AI, virtual production, all of the buzz words, all of the emerging technologies, everyone’s really embraced it.
