Final Pixel and Epic Games launch Epic Masterclasses
Final Pixel has teamed up with Epic Games to launch a series of Epic Masterclass to skill up live broadcast and events teams who need to learn Unreal Engine in a more cinematic way, for real-time production and storytelling.
The eight-week course includes opportunities to tell more immersive stories, bridge the learning gaps between current knowledge and innovation with real-time, on-set capabilities, build more risk-adverse approaches and create magic by telling data-driven stories in cinematic ways using virtual production methods.
The course is for participants who have three-to-five years of live broadcast/live events or prior production experience (including broadcast engineers, live events producers, tech artists, VFX and media/content creators for live events/broadcast).
Participants will receive intensive, instructor-led sessions from Unreal authorised trainers on core topics in Unreal Engine specifically geared for live broadcast and live events. Training includes both remote and on-set experiences where best practice can be learned and implemented in a dedicated showcase upon completion.
Topics will cover the basics of Unreal Engine, benefits and use cases, learning skills for the stage operator and technical artist roles, lighting enhancements with Lumen, blueprints, multi-user, animation, VAD (Virtual Art Department) /photorealism, VP Workflows and dedicated ICVFX editor that supports a range of workflows for live broadcast/live events on-set production.
Jodi Nelson-Tabor, business development and training manager for Final Pixel Academy, said: “As there is a seismic shift in the industry right now with digital disruption, immersive and real-time technologies, this training is needed and comes at the right time. Where skills gaps are widening, this training provides hands-on approaches for real-time technologies, opportunities to skill up and implement real-time workflows and capacities in creative ways.”
The course begins in March and runs for eight weeks. Places are limited and the waitlist is currently live.
