Clear Cut invests six-figure sum in EditShare storage
Clear Cut has trebled its storage capacity through a “significant six-figure investment” in EditShare Tier 1 high-performance edit storage.
The storage is for daily use and extends the total capacity at Clear Cut to more than a petabyte.
Clear Cut technical director Jess Nottage told Broadcast: “This delivers more than just additional storage capacity. Its high-performance capabilities enable us to take on more ambitious projects, reflecting the growing demand for large format content in 4K and productions with high volume shoot ratios.”
The storage comes with EditShare’s Flow suite of software tools for media management, including logging and review tools, that Clear Cut MD Rowan Bray says have “direct benefits to the client experience.”
She adds: “To date we have used Blackbird for those clients wanting logging tools and, brilliantly, EditShare now also works with Blackbird, so we can offer our clients choice.”
The storage also has what Nottage describes as “state-of-the-art security features that offers a level of micro-management and detailed records that will fulfil infosec requirements both now and in the future.”
Furthermore, the investment provides Clear Cut flexibility in how content is accessed from the drives, providing a hybrid approach where on-premises storage is combined with cloud-based storage solutions when required by the project.
